Saturday Morning and Dressing up can be a bad combination, especially for me, who has an explicit routine, to set my child off to school every morning by 7 am. Nevertheless, it is a birthday invitation for a kid's birthday party to watch 'Madagascar 2'. Being a mother of two pretty little angels, has its own privileges you see! So there I was, with all the rushing up for the show, with my kids and several others’ known and unknown! It was evidently so, a children's movie as the aroma of pop corns had spread in the entire hall:) I heard there were 3 bday parties at the same time.
We were asked to find our seats, which were pre booked. It was a feel good effect, for me. I hate to queue up otherwise. Especially, NOT for a children's movie UNTIL..
Good for me, I did not have the time to be embarrassed, with all the noise that was engulfing the theatre. The kids kept me busy. This was after long that I was going to see a movie in 3D animation. My last such experience with 'TINTIN' was fun too!
Alright, so the inspiration for this blog was this gang of grown-up boys (well that’s what I thought in the least) who were seated right next to me. The movie and their laughter held the same tempo. Nonstop, holding no bars they laughed their lungs out all through the movie. Laughter with no inhibitions, just pure plain burst outs!! And I was thinking we were supposed to be ‘the’ gang.
Witnessing them, for me was a sight and sensation that grew on me even after I left the movie hall. What was so special? It was the kind of laughter, that I hadn't heard in a long time. No wonder 'ROLFOL' is one of my favourite abbreviation :)) The adults are ‘supposed’ to be mature, quiet, disciplined. What a shame, that THIS is what my belief has been. Not that I don't crack up, in fact I do much often, only to feel conscious of being so boisterous.
Some after thoughts.....
Why do we hold laughter within, as it is some treasure we are not supposed to lose?
Why have we made laughter so pricey? That, We should invest in a Laughing roar as our signature, rather than 'LOL' just being our standard response!
I have come to realize; drawing my inspiration from the 'LAUGHING 4some' that, 'HUMOR' is not all that Godforsaken after all. It is such a great way to relax, rejuvenate and way of release. Such a soothing calm sets in after one good dose of laughter.
Scientifically speaking, our brain also releases endorphins, which help to ease physical pain. Laughter also boosts the number of antibody producing cells and enhances the effectiveness of T cells, leading to a stronger immune system.
As soo rightly said,"Laughter is an instant vacation"- Milton Berle
